Join Our Team

What We're Looking For

Calling all book lovers and coffee connoisseurs! We are looking for you to join our team. Do you enjoy reading and discussing books with others? Or do you have experience as a barista or a background in the food serving industry?  If you answered 'yes' to any of these questions we want to meet you. We are currently hiring for part-time employees to help with book sells and to work in the barista area. If you are interested, please review the job descriptions and fill out the application. 

Barista

Primary duties include but are not limited to: 


 

  • Greeting customers in a friendly manner and taking food and drink orders
  • Preparing and serving beverages such as drip coffee, espresso-based drinks, tea and other specialty drinks
  • Preparing and serving food items
  • Answering customers’ questions about menu choices
  • Promoting and recommending menu options to customers
  • Taking payment from customers
  • Tracking and ordering inventory for cafe and beverage supplies
  • Maintaining espresso machines, grinders, coffee machines and other equipment by cleaning, troubleshooting and scheduling repairs
  • Keeping the work environment and cafe seating area, and restrooms clean, sanitary and organized
  • Responding to and resolving customer concerns or complaints
  • Evaluating and modifying processes to improve efficiency and quality of service
  • Attracting new customers and refining the menu

Book Seller/ Customer Liaison

Primary duties include, but are not limited to:


• Provide outstanding customer service before and after a sale.


• Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.


• Help customers determine their needs then provide proper recommendations based on their likes and needs.


• Discuss books, authors, themes, etc. with customers


• Develop strong relationships with customers and look for opportunities to collaborate and refer other services and products


• Take full advantage of company training sessions and literature to remain current with product offerings.


• Keep all store areas and restrooms clean and organized.
